AED Provider Level - 4.0 Hours
Purpose:
The purpose of the AED Provider course is to train the participant in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator.
Objectives:
The AED Provider Level course will train participants to:
Recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart attack, Recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke and/or sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Activate the chain of survival - early recognition, early access, early CPR, early defibrillation.
Audience:
First aid team members in a workplace, health and safety personnel, medical staff, security teams, lifeguards, public access defibrillation (PAD) responders and targeted responders.
Minimum Participants:
For on-site training, a minimum of six participants is required. (There is no set maximum) Training is also available at the OFS training centre. Please see our public course schedule for individual training. We follow Health Canada and the applicable WSIB/WCB requirements for instructor per participant ratios.
Prerequisites:
This workshop is for participants that possess a Heartsaver CPR level "A" certificate or higher.
